Skilled strategist and writer who has spent four decades in communications, translating dense science and engineering content into clear, engaging language for consumer audiences. A retired Navy Captain, she handled multiple public affairs crises and was a trusted advisor to senior leadership there as well as in federal public health. As a consultant, she developed communications campaigns for CDC for over a decade, mostly in chronic disease prevention. She holds a B.A. from Clemson University and completed post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma and American University.
